Droplets – Tanka

The following tanka was inspired by Stream of Consciousness Saturday #SoCS.

Write hat you see.

Not wanting to fall

Holding on with all their might

Inevitable

Annihilation happens

All striving, persevering

As water hits me

I feel invigorated

Torrential currents

Going where the falls take me

Riding the water downstream

What do you see #18Image Credit; Hoi An- Unsplash

The bike you see in this picture tells me quite a bit. This is what I see: Used perhaps by a poor tradesman to haul his tools from one job to another. It could belong to a homeless person as I can see a few stakes and a tarp. His tent perhaps. It may be weathered, rusty, and old but it is still quite functional to some.

Clearly Deserted

You used to ride me

when you were developing

now old and rusty

Left behind, clearly alone

holding all of your rubbish

Disoriented

On a chilly winter’s night

The moon is hiding

I see lights in the distance

Hoping someone will help me

Life is Good #Tanka #Poetry

This was written for a challenge over at Colleen’s 2020 Weekly Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge.

The two words to write about are “Love” & “Harmony”

S.Zutautas (6)

Life is Good

Pure tranquility

is how I feel, when with you

Friendship was the base

Love followed shortly after

Harmonious we’ve become

Hunted

It repulses me

knowing these poor animals

are being destroyed

only for the destruction

mankind can be sadistic
