Watch this, he’s going to code!
People rushed in to see what was happening.
You could see the sweat on his brow and hear him gasping for air.
His fingers, the center of attention as he tapped out.
Would this be the last of him?
The bell rang, and everyone stopped, the coding competition came to an end and he’d won first prize for the new computer game Clash of Clans.
This was written for Six Sentence Story. Denise’s prompt word this week is “code“.
This 100-word short story was written for Friday Fictioneers, over at Rochelle’s.

“Where the hell are you going Charlie,” asked Bert.
“To that tree over there, see it?”
“There are a lot of trees there Charlie, which one are you talking about?”
“The one with the big long leaves that look like spikes.”
“Oh, okay, that would be a palm tree.”
“Now what are you doing Charlie?”
“I’m going to climb up to that big huge branch to see if I can get a cell signal.”
“What’s so important that you have to climb a tree to make a call?”
“I’m not calling anyone, it’s gem box day on Clash of Clans.”
