I sat in silence staring across the room

My heart a flutter as I assumed

You were alone and staring back at me

Never had I felt to this degree

Never did I ever foresee

What was about to happen to me

There was no doubt at all

All that I felt was enthral

Careful What You Say

This little story was written for Weekend Writing Prompt.

92 Words using the word “Spin”

“Let’s take dad’s car out for a little spin, shall we?” said Greg.

“I don’t think he’d like that very much, you know it’s his pride and joy,” Sally answered.

“Well we’re not going to tell him silly, besides what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him.”

“But you can be sure if he finds out he’ll hurt us.”

“Stop being such a big scaredy cat, besides he’s gone for the weekend and he’ll never find out.”

“Unless he comes home early”, announced Greg and Sally’s dad.

“Uh … Uh … Oh hey, dad.”

Zodiac Killer

San Francisco Police Department [Public domain]

Zodiac Killer had struck too many times

It was up to the detectives to solve these crimes

Endless nights of no sleep

Waiting for a clue if only a peep

This went on for many, many years

Bringing families’ no closure, just tears

A Walk in the Park

Taking our time meandering around

No pressures to be found

Nice warm sunny day

In the merry month of May

Children playing at the park

Dogs here and there, listen to them bark

Families all having fun

A wonderful day to just sit out in the sun

The Liar

He said he was a doctor

Much to my surprise

Not looking the part at all

As I looked into his eyes

He was dressed in painters’ pants

I noticed as I glanced

Maybe he was only looking

For a little romance

He was a charlatan by trade

As phony as they come

Did he really think, I was that dumb?

Silence

weekend writing prompt

Nothing can be heard

The silence is so peaceful

Relax and enjoy

Kids return shortly
