VFW Post 2550

I took this picture while in Dunedin Florida, November of 2018. I found the artwork quite amazing. It is on the side of the building at 360 Douglas Avenue, Dunedin, Florida at the VFW. When I look at the picture I think “Power to Fight”.

This post is for One Word Sunday with the prompt being “POWER”

Street Art in Orillia, Ontario

Each year Orillia has a different theme for street art.

Sail Boats
Stephen Leacock. The theme was chairs
Letters were the theme
The theme was guitars

The theme for this year is going to be “Off The Chain” which should be interesting to see what people come up with.

Local artists get together each year and create something for that years theme.

This is for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #45.

A Place to Ponder

Stephen Leacock Boathouse on Lake Couchiching, Orillia

To daydream or to ponder life this is where I go. The rowboat out in the water was moving very slow.

The boathouse sits in plain view for all to see. Sometimes I imagine what it would be like to live there happily.

==============

To think that Stephen Leacock once sat here writing his short stories makes me smile to know that he was a great writer and spent his summers here on Brewery Bay, Lake Couchiching.

Stephen was a Canadian writer and humorist who was born in 1869 and was originally from Swanmore, UK.

Friday Follies Season 3 Episode 5

bathroom sign

This picture is for Friday Follies Season 3 Episode 5.

I remember when my 3 boys were young I made a sign for the bathroom wall behind the toilet. This is what it said.

If you sprinkle while you tinkle

Be a sweetie and wipe the seatie

If it ends up on the floor

Wipe it up and don’t do it anymore.

Sunday Stills – The Gentle Giants

Today over at SecondWind Leisure Perspectives it’s Sunday Stills and this week the subject is dogs.

At the moment we don’t have a dog but I’m sure it won’t be too long before we welcome one into our family.

I thought I’d share a few photos of my Newfoundland dogs that I loved with all my heart.

First off we have Bruce who was my shadow, dancing partner, nursemaid whenever I was ill, and one of the best dogs I’ve ever had in my life.

Next, we have Maggie Magz who was my very first Newfoundland dog. Sadly we lost her last year in May at the age of 11.

FF Friday Follies

Hope that everyone had a fantastic Easter. I was away last week and I can see that I have a lot of catching up to do. It will have to wait a few days though as my mother in law is having knee replacement surgery today and I’m her prime caregiver. I’ll be back ASAP.

This post is for Friday Follies Season Three Episode 3.
