The Eagle Haiku

stone eagle

Watching for his meal

He sits high upon his perch

Ready to take flight

This majestic bird

Has a wingspan of eight feet

Powerfully fast

Lives up to twenty

A natural carnivore

Can easily swim

  2. Quite inventive Susan, love the song.
“Can easily swim” poetic licence used there 🙂

  3. Is it a wonder these beautiful birds have been adopted time and again as symbols of power. And you capture that so well.
And I have heard that track for a long long while. Thank youo.

    • There’s a road not far from my home that has about six eagle nests way up high on top of telephone poles.I think they put a flat board on top of the poles. The nests look huge.

      • Wow. I’ve never been so lucky. Various hawks are commonly seen, but never eagles, not around here.
