Storm on the Horizon – Haiku

storm coming

Watch the clouds roll in

Lightening soon to alert us

Of incoming storm

One can smell the rain

Thunderclaps, rolls, and rumbles

Torrential downpour

This haiku was written for Heeding Haiku with Chèvrefeuille over at Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie. This week’s prompt: Stormy Weather.

I wrote a haiku on stormy weather back in 2013 that I wanted to use but the rules are that your poem must be new. If you’d like to see the one from 2013 here’s the link.

  1. Love the rain. But not being caught in it… heavy and torrenching, and my waterproof proves itself not waterproof. Oh for the high drying wind that follows.

  2. I’ve been caught in one or two of those types of storms.
We are having a lingering of summer here.

  5. Reminds me of “Thunder Rolls” by Garth Brooks….I could feel the lightning in the sky. 🙂
