Wolves howl to others

Warning, communicating

Moon makes no difference

Bloodhounds, beagles, howl

The same way that the wolves do

For different reasons

This 2 stanza haiku was written for this week’s Six Sentence Story. The prompt word this week is “Howl”.

I like the turn in the second verse. I thought I might write about coyotes. They don’t howl, they yip. But I ended up in an entirely different place.

  4. nice.
(though not a poetry guy, haiku has that elegant simplicity going for it*) and the subject matter seems so well suited to the form

*provided there is talent in the application. as is clearly the case this week

Great haiku SSS! I love hearing the little pups trying to find their howling voices.
