The Centipede – A Poem
They have the hairiest legs, I say
There you go down the drain
Back to where you once came
A creepy crawler is what you are
The ugliest bug by far
Multiple legs are what you have
Don’t you dare make me mad
I saw you walking down the stairs
Surely you thought I wasn’t aware
One day I saw you on a wall
Got interrupted by a call
In China, they eat you deep-fried or grilled
Which makes me feel very ill
Runaway and hide today
Never come back any day

oh poor critter, hope he didn’t drown … knew there was a good reason I’m vegetarian 🙂

That’s what I used to think but now I hear that they bite (some of them). Thanks, Kate!

lol yes they can be poisonous but then we have many spiders, snakes and sharks here .. found that if you respect them they don’t bite 🙂

A most interesting poem, but the end was a big icky for me. Eating bugs just doesn’t appeal to me.

Oh, I know what you mean but I found out about them eating the bugs when I was researching them.

Gosh, glad we only have diddy ones 🙂

The ones we have here just keep getting bigger and bigger every year.

Yikes. Our diddy ones give me the shivers, but that’s cos they’re small. Don’t know what I’d do if I encountered one of your giants. Probably step back and allow it plenty of room.

I hate, hate, HAAAAATE those things! We get them in our house and some of them are massive! Like 6 inches long! And they’re QUICK. And they leave a dusty smudge on the wall or ceiling where you smack them. *shudders*
