She Was the Sun
This poem was written in response to July Writing Prompts over at Putting My Feet in the Dirt.
She was the sun
She warmed my heart
I never knew that we would part
She was so young
It wasn’t fair
Still, I see her everywhere
She dries my tears
When I cry
Wanting her to be alive
She comes to me in the night
When I dream all is right
She was my mother
And will always be
A big part of me
