What Happened Here?
Jen, had been away for the weekend and upon her return Monday morning she walked through to the back of the house to find her patio door had been brutally smashed. There was glass everywhere and the doors were ajar.
She gasped and ran for the front door. Sitting in her car trying to calm herself she quickly got her phone out and dialed 911.
When the police arrived, they searched the house finding it was clear. They then had Jen do a walk through to see if she was missing anything. The detective asked her if she had any idea of who would have broken in and was there anything she could see was missing.
The only person Jen could think of was her ex-boyfriend. They’d just had a terrible breakup and she noticed that some of her jewelry, pieces he’d given her, were gone. She hated to give him up to the police but at the same time she didn’t know what else he might do.
When the detective asked her again she gave them his name but she wasn’t sure of where he’d moved to.
“Is there somewhere you can go for a few days while this door is being fixed?” the detective asked.”
“No, not really, but I could always get a hotel room.” she replied.
“That would be best for now. If we haven’t located him by the time the door is fixed we’ll put an officer outside your house just to be safe.”
It took the police no time at all to find Jen’s ex and charge him with breaking and entering. They dusted for prints, and it was him that had indeed broken in.
