Can You Find All the Spikes?

spiky house

This is a side view of my home taken in November of 2018. It’s when snowmageddon started. We had some warmer weather these past 2 days and quite a bit of the snow melted but I won’t be happy until I can see grass again.

This photo is for Becky’s Spiky March Squares challenge.

  4. Chilly, but beautiful photo…though I understand that it gets old after awhile, and you crave signs of spring. I spent 9 years of my childhood in Minnesota–seemed like winter lasted 6 months each year… Now I’m in the Pacific NW–in Feb, we had 2 weeks of snow, and it practically stopped life as we know it, haha! It melted, then we had a bit more in March–but it didn’t last, and I’m delighted to report the Cherry Blossoms are popping out, yaaayyy!

PS: I’m sorry for the delay in getting back over here to visit your blog (better late than never). I read your About with interest, as we have some things in common–love of writing AND cooking!

So glad to meet you–thanks for your visits and comments at my place πŸ™‚

    • I spent some time on the west coast, Los Angeles area and Seattle. Loved the winter’s there πŸ™‚ I bet those cherry blossoms are beautiful.
So nice to meet you too!

      • Oh, then you’re familiar with Seattle πŸ™‚ I so live for the cherry blossoms…they’re a bit silly in that they’re impatient: every year some blossoms come out, then get frozen 😦

I spent the first nine years of my childhood in Minnesota as well along with every other year of my life and yes, the winters are just about six months! πŸ™‚

          • Oh, you’re still there! My dad worked in Duluth–were you familiar with Chung King Foods?

Absolutely! Chun King canned chow mein and Jeno’s pizza and pizza rolls. I grew up on those! They still make that canned chow mein but now it’s La Choy. Did your dad work there?

              • Yep Dad worked there–so we ate plenty of Chinese and the Jeno’s pizza rolls…I’d almost forgotten those. Gosh, now I feel like you’re a brother I didn’t know previously πŸ™‚ Have a great day, Michael πŸ™‚

And Totino’s pizza which was another of their products. Your dad helped feed me while I was growing up! πŸ™‚

                  • I’m not sure what dad’s actual position was, maybe sales…anyway, we moved to TX and it was Mexican food for awhile, which I also love πŸ™‚ But, we must have eaten a million cans of chow mein–just thinking about it makes me hungry! πŸ™‚

  5. I can’t begin to imagine what is like to have snow last that long. I feel for you. But … they do tell us, spring is on its way. πŸ™‚

      • Well, while we haven’t had snow, the weather has been cold and inclement, and not encouraging of long country walks. But … Saturday, all being well, I’m taking the camera through Tyrells Wood.

          • I thank you. Forecast: Not cold (but not exactly warm); Not windy (that’s always good for photography); Not sunny (I prefer overcast for photography, less likely to get blinkies.) And … no rain! Should be a good day.
