Busy As a Beaver – Flash Fiction Poem

When I saw that this week’s Flash Fiction challenge over at Carrot Ranch was to use “busy” I immediately thought of the first children’s book I wrote and decided to write a poem. Here it is:

The Day Mr. Beaver Met a Moose

Mr. Moose saw a busy beaver working on his den
He walked up to him and offered a hand to lend

They cut and moved logs and stopped for a break
Thank you Mr. Moose I wouldn’t have been able to get all these in the lake

Munching on some berries
Talking away was merry

Until Mr. Moose explained the fire on his land
And how everything was now just a pile of sand

This made Mr. Beaver shed a tear for him
And offered for Mr. Moose to move to his land

Thank you my new found friend

If you’d like to join us for this or any flash fiction challenge please follow my  link over to Carrot Ranch.

All proceeds from the sale of this book are being donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities. This is a story poem children’s book that shows and teaches friendship, being a good samaritan, sharing, and what results you can achieve by working together.
