When I Look in the Mirror

When I look in the mirror what do I see
A much older version staring back at me
Although I feel much younger
Younger than me
How did I get to what I now see
When I look in the mirror what do I see
Wrinkles, gray hairs …. How can that be
The years have flown by
So quickly oh my
Looking and staring I let out a sigh
When I look in the mirror what do I see
A mature woman looking back at me
The wisdom I’ve gained the life that I’ve lived
The children I’ve raised into wonderful men

Makes everything worth the gray hairs on my head

This poem was written for a “Finish the Sentence Friday” post. I’ve had writer’s block since last year and I’m hoping that this is the beginning of the end of it. Thanks for the inspiration April Noelle.
